Better Late than Never - Mountain Weekend 2011

We went to the Mountain House with a bunch of friends the other weekend but last week was really crazy so I never got around to sharing.  We had a lot of fun despite Carolina losing (and some very sad news.. RIP sweet Jake).  We went all out this year and had koozies printed (by SC embroidery and they did a great job as usual), maybe for the 10th Annual Mountain weekend we'll make T-shirts.

Happy Haloween

Every year since J and I started dating we've taken a night and
carved pumpkins (somewhat competitively).. but this year I think J won.
Here are a few pictures from our fun family night.

What I'm Loving Wednesday (the hair edition)

I'm kinda crazy about my hair (thanks mom).  I didn't color my hair for a long time, like 8 years, because in high school I went a little crazy and before I knew it I was a platinum blond and my hair was fried.  But because I did start highlighting again, I probably go over board on trying to keep my hair healthy.

I have alot of very fine hair but I hate product
so a good shampoo is critical for me.
I know I'm crazy but I like to rotate shampoos every week or so
$30 at Amazon.com
$27 from Trade Secrets

I rarely use hair spray but when I do it's bumble and bumble
It smells great and they make a travel size perfect for your purse
$22 from Sephora ($10 for travel size)

I love that bumble and bumble make their dry shampoo hair color specific
$35 from Sephora

And my long standing staple items are by Aveda.
Some people don't like the strong smell of Aveda products
but as an Aveda salon regular I love it..
It makes me feel like I just left the salon when I use it.
$16 from Aveda

3 posts in 1

1.  Sorry I've been so bad about posting.  I've pretty much spent every free moment I have looking for ideas for the new house.  {Thank goodness for Pinterest or I would have killed a small tree printing all the cute stuff I've found} ..Other than that it's just been Gamecock football, Gamecock drama, and work of course.

2.  I went to visit my parents last weekend and finally met their new puppy, Uryk.  He is a 12 week old, Bernese Mountain Dog, and he's already almost as big as Miller.  He looks like a little teddy bear... I'm inlove!!

3.  Also, I finally found flat brown boots that I love
(and they actually fit my little toothpick legs).
These are the grey ones I have my eye on.. but I'm afraid Frye maybe a little too butch for me??  I feel like I look like I should be on a farm, yet for some reason I keep going back to them.

These are the other pair I liked, but I'm not sure how I feel about suede??

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm not a huge fan of over the top make-up.  I've always been big on the theory "less is more" in this department.  But mascara is like my cell phone.. I Never Leave Home without It!!!  And up until recently I hated lip stick but I've found a few that I actually like. I still don't wear it on a regular basis but when I need it these are my go to, favorite make-up staples...

This is my most recent purchase..
Kate Spade Supercalifragilipstick.
Kate Spade - $25

...previously I blogged about my passion for Dior Lip Glow.
I actually do use this daily but I don't count it as lipstick
Sephora - $29

a few months ago I was turned onto Diorshow
I've always loved the look of my BadGal by Benefit
but it flaked so I decided to make a switch
Let me just tell you I love this mascara
(I have skinny, short, blond eye lashes.. so good mascara is a must)
Sephora - $24.50
